We'd like to tell you several things about this business and about ourselves.
We purchased an interesting old building in 1985. The two story, twenty room home was built in 1925 by Architect Otto Merman for a prominant La Crosse, Wisconsin family. It combined elements of Italian Villa, Gothic Revival, Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial Revival into a building featuring cast and wrought iron throughout the interior and exterior. Although our renovations continue, we were honored with the 1988 Heritage Award of the Preservation Alliance of La Crosse.

The gift shop is not our first connection with the gift and collectibles business; George's father represented various European and American companies throughout the Midwest. This tradition is carried on, separately from this gift shop, by George and several of his brothers.
